A Stop at Cone Stop

I love going down different streets and picking out what is new. On one of my recent outings, I noticed a new local ice cream shop called Cone Stop. Only recently did I see the small sign with an arrow stating “ice cream” in bold letters. I learned that the shop opened only a few months ago. The two gentlemen at the front were helpful and enjoyed discussing their favorite suggestions for customers.

Though the shop advertises ice cream, it serves a type of soft serve. My boyfriend and I decided to go with the suggestion of an Iceberg. It is where a slush is poured into a cup and a core of soft serve ice cream is added. If you would prefer the ice cream mixed into the slush, they also offered something called a Vortex. The gentlemen at the front were very kind and even offered us a taste of their flavor of the month, which was cherry.

My boyfriend decided to try an Iceberg with cherry ice cream and their melon flavored slush mix. I went for their classic Iceberg option, which was a blue raspberry slush with vanilla ice cream. Each cup was topped off with a delicate curl of soft serve. The service we received was expedient. We were each given a straw and a spoon. The pricing at Cone Stop was more than reasonable. We ordered our two menu items, and the total was somewhere around $2.50.

The location did not offer seating, however, that was no problem. The day was plenty warm outside. My boyfriend and I decided to enjoy our frozen treats in the car. Each item was unique and tasted pretty good. I really enjoyed their whimsical marketing takes for both their advertising out front as well as their names for different menu items. For example, they had an item which included their melon slush called Alien Juice.

Cone Stop offered a light-hearted and fun atmosphere to enjoy. The menu items were clever and invited us to discuss them with the people working there. My boyfriend and I will be heading back to Cone Stop for some frozen treats soon. If you would like to head over for something fun, they are open Wednesday through Sunday 2:00 to 8:00 pm.

I would encourage everyone to enjoy the last stretch of summer before fall. Go outside and look at the vibrancy of the sunset or sunrise. Maybe go swimming once more before the weather gets too cold. Enjoy one last family night gathered around the fire pit before bundling up. Allow yourself to experience and say goodbye to summer before fall truly sets in. Frozen desserts are also perfect for any time or temperature during the year.
